Clinical Observation of Hearings in Pregnant Women
Abstract
Hearings of forty-eight pregnant women (between 2 months to 10 months pregnancy) were examined with a pure-tone audiometer. No one shows significant hearing losses on audiograms, although there were two cases who complained of subjective hearing impairments. Only five cases out of forty-eight showed slight elevations of -threshold from 15 db to 30 db. Audio logically, the threshold of earlier half of pregnancy seems to be little lower than the threshold of later half of pregnancy on audiograms.
Generally, any hearing impairments during pregnancy seems to be very slight and caused from many factors, such as pregnant months, number of parity, and individual predispositions.
